Case Study Competition

Rules & Submission Criteria

 

1. Objective of the Competition

Enhance analytical and problem-solving skills

Develop managerial decision-making ability

Improve presentation and communication skills

Encourage application of management concepts to real-world business situations

Foster teamwork and professional ethics

2. Eligibility

Research scholars / MBA / M. Com. / MA Students

Participation may be individual or team-based

Each team may consist of 2–4 students

A student can participate in only one team

3. Nature of the Case Study

Real-life business case (Indian or international)

Industry-based case (MSME, startup, corporate, public sector)

Social enterprise / sustainability case

Functional case (Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations, Strategy, etc.)

Note: Fictional cases are not permitted unless explicitly allowed.

4. Case Study Structure (Mandatory)

Title & Company Background

Industry & Market Context

Problem Statement / Decision Dilemma

Objectives of the Case

Data & Key Facts

Analysis using Management Tools (SWOT, PESTLE, Porter’s Five Forces, etc.)

Evaluation of Alternatives

Recommended Solution

Implementation Plan

Key Learnings / Managerial Insights

5. Presentation Guidelines

Duration:

    Presentation: 10–12 minutes

    Q&A: 3–5 minutes

Number of Slides: 7–10 slides (excluding appendix)

Format: PowerPoint (PPT/PPTX)

Font & readability must be professional

Use of graphs, charts, and tables is encouraged

Excessive text on slides should be avoided

6. Submission Guidelines

PPT file

One-page Executive Summary (PDF/Word)

Submission deadline will be communicated separately. Late submissions will not be accepted.

7. Presentation Day Rules

Teams must report 30 minutes before the scheduled time

No changes allowed after final submission

Internet access will not be provided during presentation

Any form of plagiarism will lead to disqualification

Certificates will be awarded to all participants.

11. Academic Integrity

All sources of data must be properly acknowledged

Plagiarism above acceptable limits will result in disqualification

AI tools may be used only for support, not for full content generation

12. Learning Orientation

This competition is not merely for ranking but for:

    Learning through analysis

    Experiencing managerial decision-making

    Developing professional confidence

Students are encouraged to focus on clarity, logic, and realism rather than complexity.
